Acupuncture and Traditional Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine-based. The theory of acupuncture centers on the concept of life- energy “Qi” which is said to flow through the body’s energy pathways, known as meridians. Meridians match certain organs or groups of organs. Traditional Chinese medicine holds that disease is caused by an imbalance of this energy’s flow through the meridians. Our acupuncturist can help you regain the balance of energy through the needling of various acupuncture points along meridians. Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, release chemicals into muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.
