Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers in women.
When diagnosed, cervical cancer is one of the most successfully treatable forms of cancer, as long as it is detected early and managed effectively.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) 2021 cervical cancer screening recommendations:
Aged less than 21 years:No screening.
Aged 21-29 years:PAP test alone every 3 years.
Aged 30-65 years:3 options:.PAP test and HPV test (Co-testing) every 5 years..HPV test alone every 5 years..PAP test alone every 3 years.
Aged greater than 65 years:
Stop screening if:
-Women do not have a history of moderate or severe abnormal cervical cells or cervical cancer.
-Women have had either three negative PAP test results in a row, two negative HPV tests in a row, two negative Co-test results in a row within the past 10 years.
